Hi there! I’m Shawna, the heart and hands behind Bitchin’ Stitchin’ By Shawna. I specialize in creating unique memory bears, quilts, pillows, and other keepsakes from the cherished clothing of lost loved ones. Additionally, I offer themed fabric items, such as military-themed bears and floral-themed blankets as an example.

My Journey

My sewing journey began in 2020, during a very challenging time for both the world as well as my own life. As a new mother battling postpartum depression, I found myself in need of a creative outlet after the Covid-19 pandemic took my job and left me as a single, stay-at-home, unemployed mom. Sewing became my sanctuary—a way to support my mental health and work from home, allowing me to be there for my beautiful daughter. Four years later, my business is going strong thanks to the support of my family, my loving Fiance, and my amazing clientele.

A Blend of Passions

My main career path is in social work, where I have and will continue to engage in grief work to support those experiencing loss. Through Bitchin’ Stitchin’, I offer a unique form of comfort by transforming old, dust-collecting clothing into treasured memory bears and keepsakes. Having personally experienced loss, I understand the profound importance of having something tangible and comforting during the healing process.
